What would be the best design for a bed skirt to cover a king size bed that has a divided frame that is adjustable? The bed has a tendency to separate a couple inches at the foot. How to make a bed skirt that can handle the up&down adjust-ability, the separation and looks like one piece when the bed is flat?

Can you be more clear about where the skirt needs to attach. You say it has a divided frame, is the box springs two separate pieces or one king size. What do you mean by adjustable, (height of bed goes up and down, or foot raises up)?? A photo of the bed would help.

I did one of these and if you need help, I can send you a picture. I made a gathered skirt, made it so it would pin on instead of with a deck. Then I put a split at each point that the bed would bend, so when it came up, the skirt would not be pulled. When the bed was leveled out, you could not see the splits. At the bottom where the two beds met, I actually had it so it wrapped around each mattress, and you could not see this because of the fullness. I also did a tailored one, and I can look up the picture on that as well. I made splits, and then had a piece of fabric behind it so it looked like a pleat when down, and then it also came apart when the bed was moved and in use. For the split between the two mattresses, I had a separate piece behind where it joined, and that also looked like a pleat. The people loved it.
