I have just moved to Green Bay Wisconsin and have access to JoAnns and Hancock fabrics but I'm looking for something with a much bigger home decor selection. If anyone knows of a fabulous fabric store within 4 hours of me, that would include Minneapolis and Chicago, I'd appreciate it! I need fabric for an Oxford Arch, Moreland and Pashmina valance, looking for linen. Thank you!

Have you tried to go on line and google fabric stores in those areas?

Yes I have been googling:) but it's nice to have a recommendation from someon who has been to a store who sews and knows. If the selection is really good or not I have also sent for some swatches online. There just has to be a good store somewhere! LOL

I hope someone will speak up. Sadly, there are less stores that stock fabrics now. So many have gone to samples only.

Just be sure that you are aware Calico Corners sells firsts and seconds quality fabrics. The seconds (higher risk of flaws!) are usually on site in stock and the firsts (the best quality, hence less risk of flaws). You MUST be sure as they are rolling the fabrics out prior to cutting that you check for flaws!! Having said that I love Calico Corners and have a wonderful relationship with everyone at the Jensen Beach FL store. As long as you carefully check the fabrics you can get amazing fabrics at wonderful prices. Introduce yourself if your a professional and they will add your information into their system and notify you of any upcoming sales as well as special events to the trade.
