FAQ: How do I determine the length of the pole? The yardage page shows the jabots being 12" wide, yet it says to subtract 22" from the width measurement to get the swag size. What would the pole size be, please explain.
ANSWER: The 22" deduction is used to determine swag size, not pole size. Yes, the overall size of the jabot is 12". From the middle of the lower jabot pipe to the middle of the top pipe is 10". The medallion post will install at the middle of the lower pipe. The swag will begin at the middle of the top pipe (jabot pipe overlaps it by 1''). The top pipe of the jabot has to be able to attach to the pole (it needs 2" there). That means you would only subtract 10" for that jabot instead of 12". HOWEVER, depending on your pole, determine if you need to cut the pole long enough to allow room for the bracket and/or the finial to fit on to it.

FAQ: I am wondering what the "pipe" is exactly.
ANSWER: "Pipe is a term used by the old masters of window treatments in the early 20th century. It means a smooth tapered portion of a top treatment much like that of a horn, only more narrow. The pipe pattern referred to on the yardage page is the one between the swags. Pipes on the jabot are included with the jabot pattern.
